Solar weather affects communications in a big way.  Flares, CMEs the sunspots and Aurora all play a role in RT-logohelping or hindering radio communications.

Hams often have to face conditions where no propagation happens.  Meaning no two way communications on any of the HF bands.  It’s an interesting topic.   Maybe one for conversation at Radio Talk 2013.

Now to give you an interesting ears view of this I am  linking to a really interesting site called Space Weather Radio.  The site links to a radar that detects meteor and other objects like the International Space Station as they pass by the Earth.

Another site that is interesting is http://spaceweather.com.  This site has lots of interesting data on solar weather activity.

Enjoy and if you think this would be a topic worth exploring during RT2013  let us know.
